Scribble It is a party game meant to be silly and fun. These are the ground rules for playing it, plus an honest description of what the game does and does not do.
How a game works
- Whoever opens a room is its host. The host picks the settings and starts the game; if they leave, the longest-standing remaining player takes over.
- Each turn one player draws a word while everyone else guesses in chat. Faster correct guesses score more, and the drawer earns points when others guess.
- Anyone with your room link can join, so only share it with people you want in your game.
Play fair
- Don't reveal the word you are drawing, in chat or out loud to people in the room.
- Don't write the word instead of drawing it.
- No bots, scripts or automated guessing.
- Don't spam the chat or deliberately ruin other people's turns.
Be decent to each other
- No harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats or bullying — in chat, in names or in drawings.
- No sexual content involving minors, and nothing illegal. Ever, under any setting.
- Don't impersonate other people, and don't use someone's real personal details as a name.
- Don't share other people's private information.
The 18+ category
"After Dark" is an optional word pack of adult party humour — dating, nightlife and innuendo. It is off by default and only a room host can switch it on. There is no age check, so please enable it only in private rooms where everyone is an adult and happy to play with it. If you would rather not see it, ask your host to turn it off, or host the room yourself.
Cameras and air-drawing
Air-drawing uses your camera to track your hand, and all of that processing happens on your own device — no video is uploaded, recorded or shown to anyone else. Only your brush strokes reach the other players. Still, be aware of your surroundings before switching your camera on, and don't point it at people who haven't agreed to it. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Moderation, honestly
This is a small hobby project. There is no moderation team, no reporting queue and no stored history of chats or drawings, which means we generally cannot review or act on something that happened in your room after the fact. Rooms are effectively self-governed: the host decides the settings and who gets the link. If someone is behaving badly, the practical fix is to leave and start a fresh private room with people you trust.
Availability
The game is provided free and as-is, with no guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted or bug-free. Games run in server memory, so a restart or deploy ends any game in progress. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
Changes
If these rules change, the date at the top of the page will change with them.
